As donut said though, same exact terrain

Marine > Marauder
Marauder > Siege Tank
Siege Tank > Marine
Its balanced, and its exactly like devo in terms of terrain. The opitions you usually do with the book (f1) are now a cool drop down menu you have, similar to a leader board but with buttons.

Anyway, I'm making an SC2 risk game, I've emailed Priwin and he says hes not working on anything (not sure about RodOfNod). The SC2 editor is much more powerful than the wc3 editor (not of too much importance for Risk) but takes a while to earn. Another bonus of sc2 is the ability to select as many units as you want
I've decided to keep the unit set the same for the first version (I don't like the rock-paper-scissors thing they've got going so far, but thats just my opinion), but may make careful changes later. I've made the map even more accurate by converting an actual image of Europe from Google Earth into a wc3 map then converting that to a sc2 map (although Ive enlarged the straits of gibraltar, greenland and made a few other small changes so the map is still basically the same as devo with a few extra countries^^, say goodbye to Malta though for now). I'm hoping to include lots of game modes and options as well.
I'm looking for suggestions about the unit set(and anything else too), as this is the most important part of risk imo I wanna make sure I've got other Risk players supporting the changes. Im just gonna throw out some ideas in that vein: make army majors more useful (just seem to die on large amounts of troops), more types of ship (maybe vulnerable but fast ships to harass weak SS), air units (got no ideas here, just a possibility), more land units?

Thats the original image and minimap for sc2 risk. Note the new countries Mauritania, Kazakhstan, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, and the Balearic Islands (Armenia and Iran are there but I decided not to include them as they are so tiny on this map).
EDIT: Did I mention SC2 can save data to banks using triggers alone so I can stat track to an extent without bots.

It's not balanced. Tanks are horribly overpowered. While a marine+maud ball can deal with one or two tanks early on, once five or six tanks supported by a ball of marines are on the field, the only counter is a larger tank/marine ball or a good position.
Marauders just get shredded by massed marines. and once the tanks hit some critical mass, 10 or more with marines, even a ball of marauders falls to the tanks.
A creative solution to overpowered tanks is the viking. Its bonus against armor makes it a good anti-tank weapon, however, their range is shit, and they get absolutely shredded by marines. They cost as much as a tank each too. Glad medics were fixed though.
Nevertheless I am expecting good things for later versions.
Oh, and. If you're looking to make a new ship unit set, try this:
Frigate
Cost:5
Armor:Light
Dmg: Low, bonus to Armored
Range:Low
Hp:Very low
Speed:Fast
Destroyer:
Cost:10
Armor:Normal
Dmg:Low, bonus to Light
Range:Med
Hp: Low
Speed:Fast
Cruiser:
Cost:15
Armor: Armored
Dmg:Med
Range:Med
Hp:Med
Speed:Med
Battlecruiser:
Cost:20
Armor: Light
Dmg: Med
Range: Long
Hp: Low
Speed:Med
Battleship:
Cost:30
Armor:Armored
Dmg: High
Range:Long
Hp:High
Speed:Slow
Dreadnought:
Cost:40
Armor:Armored
Dmg: High, bonus to Armored
Range: Medium
Hp: High
Speed:Very slow
Frigates beat Battleships, Dreadnoughts and can hurt Cruisers
Destroyers beat Frigates and Battlecruisers
Cruisers beat Destroyers
Battlecruisers beat Destroyers and Cruisers
Battleships beat Battlecruisers
Dreadnoughts beat Battleships
Seems rock-paper-scissors but since Battlecruisers are long ranged and fast, they can outrun and snipe anything but Battleships. Dreadnoughts can be outrun and outranged by almost anything. Destroyers can catch and wreck Battlecruisers. A swarm of Frigates can down a Dreadnought or Battleship quickly, and hurt Cruisers.
A mass of BSs and Destroyers will rape BCs, and be raped by a mass of Cruisers.

Thanks Jerry your suggestions are very detailed, and are kinda similar to what I've actually implemented, while my system isnt so much based on counters, as a sliding scale of stats which goes like: Bigger ships, more efficient HP and Damage, slower attack speed. Smaller ships, faster attack and movement speed, more fragile. I made this intending to reduce the problem of the SS as the universal ship, while keeping the simple, micro intensive feel, as the SS-equivalent attacks slower so is less destructive against land. Smaller cheaper ships are faster, so a less powerful can player can still manage to harass a larger players ports and more powerful ships but the SS equivalent (named Dreadnoughts) will still rule the waves in large enough quantity, as they hold naval chokepoints exceptionally.

wc3 pros: Low graphics requirements, supremely polished game, tried and tested unit set, big player base/community
wc3 cons: Low (but nice) graphics, i highly doubt the unit set will be changed (although it is very good, its not perfect), most aspects of the game have been solidified and will probably not change, limited unit selection, unit lag at end game
sc2 pros: made by me (jokes), nice graphics, infinite (well nearly i think its 255) unit selection, player base are mostly newbs so each game is a walkthrough, smoother unit control especially at end game provided your graphics are good enough, unit set can be improved, game has room to evolve with all the new players and mapmakers
sc2 cons: not as polished, smaller noobier player base, certain unbalanced *cough Risk Revulsion *cough risk maps, no stats, higher graphics requirements (although sc2 low settings is fine if you can play sc3 high settings)
Also if anyones on the Europe server of battle.net 2 add me I'm Bombaygami (356) for Risk related business.
EDIT: I've got someone to publish onto American servers, not sure if they're still split US East/West but Risk Unlimited should be up there in a few days, enjoy!
